ABOut THIS TREND

This trend has already reached some theater posters in Germany. Occasionally, it also appears on tour posters for bands. In the non-gaming sector, however, no major brands have used this style to date. So far, the trend has tended to take place in a niche.

This style has its origins in the early days of computer technology from the late 1970s and was significantly influenced by brands such as Atari, Sega, Nintendo, Commodore, Windows and Apple.

Flowing transitions to the neon cyber style are recognizable, whereby the basic structure is strongly reminiscent of the Swiss style and Y2K: clear grids, reduced colour palettes and generous white spaces.

It combines technical precision with a retro-futuristic aesthetic that was shaped by the influence of early computer interfaces and pixel graphics.
