This style emerged as a counter-movement to the approaches that later led to flat design. It first appeared in the 80s.It is characterized by high colour contrast and easy-to-read fonts, often in a stencil or typewriter look. Even without textures, the design appears “rough” and unpolished. Grids are used, but are often in the background and are not dominant.A central feature is the intensive use of magenta, which is often used as an accent color.
